JYH’s Commitment to a Safe, Respectful, and Inclusive Hockey Community

Dear JYH Families,

As we gear up for an exciting new season, we want to take a moment to emphasize the

importance of community, sportsmanship, and mutual respect across all levels of our Jackson

Youth Hockey (JYH) family.

The Board and Staff are thrilled to welcome back our players and families, and we look forward

to a season where competitive spirit is matched with teamwork, respect, and inclusion—on and

off the ice.

At JYH, we are committed to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for every

member of our community. With that in mind, we will be enforcing a zero tolerance policy for

any form of hateful or discriminatory behavior including but not limited to racism, sexism,

anti-semitism or other religious discrimination, etc...This applies everywhere—on the ice, in the

locker room, on the bench, in the classroom, on social media, and beyond. Our expectations

extend to interactions with everyone involved in youth hockey, including opposing teams,

referees, rink staff, and fellow spectators.

We all represent Jackson Youth Hockey, and it’s our shared responsibility to uphold the

integrity and values of the program. That responsibility begins at home. We recognize that

tensions can run high during games and practices, but we ask parents to lead by

example—modeling sportsmanship, respect, and composure from the stands and within your

families.

Our program is built on the principle that safety is non-negotiable. To that end:

                                 ● All JYH Board members, staff, and players aged 18 and older are required to be

SafeSport certified

                                 ● All players, parents, and coaches must sign codes of conduct aligned with both USA Hockey and JYH standards

                                 ● JYH reserves the right to suspend or remove any individual from the program for

violations of this policy. Please note: no refunds will be issued in such cases.

If you see something concerning, say something. While we encourage players to bring

concerns directly to their coaches, parents should communicate in writing to:

board@jyhockey.org.

We are proud of the culture we are building at JYH, and we appreciate your partnership in

upholding these values. Let’s make this a memorable and meaningful season—Go Moose!

Warm regards,

JYH Board & Staff
