Jackson Youth Hockey is proud to introduce Drew Akins who has been selected to the newly formed position of JYH Hockey Director.  Drew comes to JYH with a wealth of hockey experience and an equally impressive resume.

Originally from Minnetonka, MN, Drew played high school hockey where he was a team captain and all-conference player.  His next stop was Junior hockey before playing for the University of Minnesota- Duluth, where he again was team captain, WCHA champion, and a member of WCHA All-Academic Team.  After his NCAA career, Drew went on to play professionally in the ECHL, CHL, SPHL, and European professional leagues.  Throughout his career Drew has worked as a hockey instructor, coach, and tryout evaluator for a number of organizations at the highest level of high school hockey in Minnesota.

In his role as Hockey Director, Drew will oversee all aspects of coaching for JYH, including programming, practice content, continuity across age levels, and instilling enthusiasm and passion for the game of hockey throughout our organization.

In addition to his duties as Hockey Director, Drew will also head up the JYH Bantam team.

We're extremely fortunate to have Drew joining JYH and look forward to his leadership and experience in guiding our program into the future.

Please join me in welcoming Drew to Jackson and Jackson Youth Hockey!
